For all intents and purposes, the 2011 season is over. At least as far as the White Sox are concerned. With that in mind, I look ahead to the 2012 campaign. MLB released the 2012 schedule today, so let’s take a look at the some of the key series for the Sox.
They start the season in Texas on April 6th, followed by 3 games in Cleveland.
The Sox home opener is on April 13th against the Detroit Tigers–figures.
The end of April will be the only time the Red Sox make an appearance at the Cell. The Yankees only make one appearance in Chicago, as well. They play 3 games against the Sox in mid August.
Interleague play sees games against the NL Central, plus 3 against at the Dodgers. The Sox host the Cubs, Astros & Brewers. The travel to play LA, St Louis, to face Mark Buehrle for the first time–haha, and the Cubs.
First game against the Cubs is scheduled for May 18-20 at Wrigley Field. Cubs play at US Cellular field beginning Monday, June 18th.
The Sox finish their season in Cleveland, in October.
Hopefully the results will be better next year.
