I’m sure he didn’t want to go, but he did, and he dominated. I am talking about Jake Peavy’s rehab start in Charlotte on Friday. Peavy allowed just 2 hits over 6 innings of work. He was in Charlotte due to a groin injury he suffered pitching against Detroit a couple weeks back.
Peavy is scheduled to pitch in Wednesday’s finale against the crosstown rival Cubs. Let’s hope this is the last stint for Peavy in triple A.
Another guy who is close to returning his Tony Pena. I know most don’t see him as a key component to the team, but when he is on, he is very good. Unfortunately, for most of the season he has been off. Hopefully his arm maladies are behind him, and he is ready to return to his set-up role.
As of right now, there is no one on the Sox who is injured.
Go Sox!
