Tweet, tweet may cost Guillen some cash

O’k, I admit it, I made a mistake. E: me. I had the White Sox headed home after last night’s win over the Yankees. I failed to notice that, yes they will be headed home, but after today’s game against the Yankees. I thought I knew the Sox schedule like the back of my hand, obviously i don’t know the back of my hand too well. That won’t happen again, sorry.

So MlB may fine Ozzie Guillen for Tweeting after he was ejected from last night’s game. MLB rules prohibit any social media usage 30-minutes before 1st pitch. I understand the rule, but sometimes you do and say things in the heat of the moment, and he only tweeted twice. Cut him some slack.

Hey, good to see my blog inspired Nick Swisher (Yeah, right). I said Swisher should focus more on his game, than his budding acting career or his actress wife. I will allow him to focus on the very same pregnant actress wife. I expected him to lock in after the Sox left town, not today. Stung by my criticism, the right fielder went 3-4, with a home run and 4 RBI. I spent a spring with Swisher, and he’s actually a real good guy. He is a tad different, not bad, just different. He once rode a tiny mini-bike through the Sox clubhouse. Don’t know why, he just wanted to, I guess. He also says MAN a lot in interviews.

Me: So Nick, you’re hitting real well, what’s your secret.

Swisher: Well man, I ‘m just locked in, man. I can see the ball real well, man.

He is a guy full of energy, and fun to interview. He is one guy who understood that Tom (cameraman) & I work for the team. He once stopped an interview to hassle me about letting him say something grammatically incorrect.
It’s too bad that he didn’t last longer in a White Sox uniform.

What’s up with Edwin Jackson? A key to the Sox success, Jackson continues to have problems. Tonight, he gave up 4 hits in 4 innings (not bad), but 6 earned runs (bad). Since that 8 inning, 13 strikeout performance against Tampa Bay, Jackson’s ERA is almost 9.00. I think we all can agree that Jackson is a better pitcher than that. it was just disappointing after the starts that Humber, Floyd and Buehrle made, in the first 3 games of the series.

Tony Pena and Will Ohman continue to be hot and cold. Pena had to have one of his worst outings of his career. 5th inning, here’s how it went: Single, double, walk, single, walk, out of game. He was also charged with 2 runs. He left with elbow pain, so that may be the reason for the rough outing. Let’s hope he gets back to his old self, because I know how valuable he was to this team, last year.

Will Ohman followed Pena, and did exactly what he’s supposed to do. With the bases loaded, the left handed reliever retired all 3 men he faced.

White Sox lost 12-3 to New York, finishing the the 11 game road trip with a 4-7 record. Considering they began the trip 1-6, that’s not too bad.

I thought about commenting on the Sox offensive struggles, but I’m not gonna beat a dead horse. I also think things will change when the Sox get home to face the Orioles, which they will do tomorrow night.

I know that’s true, I stapled a schedule to me forehead.

Go Sox!!
